I’ve mentioned my love of Volkswagen adverts before on here but it’s fair to say that once again they have proved they know their market and get what it is to connect with an audience. On this occasion it’s about the role of a dad and their protective nature over their kids. Stand by with the tissues, it’s an emotional one.
Last June I told you about Kilian Martin and what an amazing skater he was. Now, he is starring in the Lucozade Advert that has been airing recently. It’s a really nice feel-good summer advert, lots of bright sunshine, gorgeous people, big smiles and awesome rollerskate and skateboard action. Pretty much the perfect recipe. Kilian Martin is the main skateboard protagonist, doing what he does best. The guy is incredible.
Check out the advert
The thing is though, it doesn’t really do Kilian justice, to see what he does best check out my previous post here or his more recent video of his tour around Barcelona – A Skate Regeneration. Just so beautiful and incredible skills. Enjoy.
I first saw this advert a few weeks ago and half way through, was trying to work out what John Lewis, Waitrose or some other higher end brand was advertising? Was it summer food? Outdoor furniture? And then my jaw hits the floor. It’s KFC. Kentucky Fried Chicken. Now go back and read who I thought it was for? Really? KFC in the same bracket? Well, apparently so. It’s a really classy advert and a world away from their previous offerings which felt pitched somewhere between Aldi and Argos.
This really is such a move away from the pre-conceived ideas about the KFC brand. I look forward to see where Bartle Bogle Hegarty take us next.
So here it is, in all it’s Middle Class chicken glory. KFC – So Good
(Music is Temple Cloud – One Big Family)
The original JR Hartley advert was a classic from Yellow pages. Now, with a major promo for it’s App and Yell.com, JR Hartley has
died retired and there’s a new kid on the block – Day V Lately. It’s a great reworking of a classic advert. Well done Yell.
And of course, it would be remiss of me not to include the original.
I love Volkswagen’s advertising, they always seem to get it right. This latest one – The Force – is no different.
My recent favourite has to be this one though
Love the soundtrack and the dance. Amazing.
Finally a couple of Golf adverts from the last few years with rather differing styles.
Once again, Virgin Atlantic have managed to pull out the stops and create a fabulous new ad campaign. Based on a Bond-esque theme it marries up the big visuals with a great sound track (Muse’s cover of Nina Simone – Feeling good). It’s a great follow up to their last TV campaign which was a massive success.
“Is that Linda?” Excellent.
